Biography

Cinema and water, your fist thought instinctively goes to Titanic and Winslet-DiCaprio. But I hope that your project doesn’t sink! Rather, I hope that it will help to exalt all the symbology there is behind water, and which with its “physicality” and its effects represents one of the most recurrent themes in cinema ever since its birth. And we need purity, both on and off the screen.

Valerio Cappelli, born in Rome in 1958, has worked for the Arts and Entertainment desk at the Corriere della Sera for more than thirty years, following the main events in cinema and classical music, both in Italy and abroad. With Mario Sesti, he has written three plays: Kleiber, il Titano Insicuro, starring Remo Girone; Finalmente Truffaut, with Sergio Rubini; La voce di Sinopoli, with Massimo Popolizio, which were performed at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Spoleto Festival, the Teatro Argentina and Caracalla in Rome and the Teatro Franco Parenti in Milano
