The Competition

“Short film section” of 25’ minute maximum length | “Mini-short film section” of 3’ minute maximum length

The AquaFilmFestival is a project founded on firm ideals, passion and the objective and freedom of communicating. By the means of the works created and presented at our event, we want to trace a path that elaborates and shares on all the themes linked to water, and to
bear witness to all its expressive connotations in all its various forms through the medium of film.

Thanks to a thorough selection of the works submitted to the festival, we will be able to offer the audience and the Media a wide-ranging overview of activities, characteristics and cultural realities that all draw energy and substance from water. The open forums organized alongside the screenings will allow for follow-ups, as well as proposals and accounts originating from the variegated world related to water.

The goal of the AquaFilmFestival is to select the short fiction films, cartoons and documentaries that represent the element of water in all its different forms and functions.

By means of a rigorous selection procedure carried out by a panel of experts, we will choose works that in addition to artistic qualities are also capable of carefully outlining and describing the most significant aspects of this blue gold. Our aim is to promote talent while at the same time to create a significant process of awareness and education regarding water as the foremost means of environmental protection on which the future of our planet depends.

A special section of the event will be dedicated to works presented by young artists, especially those created with the use of mobile phones. These must be no longer than 3 minutes in length and should be able to inspire emotions, dreams and experiences linked to water.
